The Highline Hotel — a gorgeous Gothic building just blocks away. The Standard High Line for rooftop views. Several boutique hotels line 23rd Street within walking distance.
Three airports: JFK (AirTrain + subway, ~45 min), Newark EWR (NJ Transit direct), LaGuardia (rideshare only). Penn Station for Amtrak from most East Coast cities.
Tap your card and go — $2.90 a ride covers the whole city. The C and E trains stop at 23rd St, one block from Chelsea. Cabs and Uber are plentiful for late nights.
A charter bus departs from Hotel Chelsea on Friday January 8th to Sri Venkateswara Temple in Bridgewater, NJ (about 45 miles). After the ceremony the bus returns to Hotel Chelsea — from there it's a short 15-minute walk to Patiala Indian Grill & Bar at 240 W 35th St for the evening dinner, giving everyone time to freshen up before heading over. If you prefer to drive to the temple, parking is available on site.
